This Sunday, the Crown Protectorate of Klanift was struck with a major internal crisis, as the Chief Admiral of Klanift attempts to regain control of the situation. According to Chief Admiral Am Martin in a public statement, Eugene Smith had taken an office with the National Council and had attempted to illegitimately seize power and undermine the democratic principles of Klanift.

The Chief Admiral dismissed Mr. Smith from all positions as a result of the actions which took place on Sunday. Mr. Smith was found attempting to amend the charter of Klanift, claiming to be under the jurisdiction of the National Council.

As described by multiple accounts, Mr. Smith’s actions of using personal abilities to appoint himself to
positions and offices in which by the Charter of the Thalassocratic Republic of Klanift prohibited holding without
due appointment or election. As he falsely assumed an office of the National Council , and passed null legislation on
a revision to the Charter document, which granted him powers of an Admiral, and revoked the powers of the Chief
Admiral , essentially attempting to enforce a command which wasn’t warranted by election, referendum, command
order of an admiral, or command order of the Lord-Protector . His actions were a poor representation of Klanift’s
democratic values and will not be tolerated whatsoever.
