Teck Sen wins first MOF Chess Tournament

TYMBARC, Tym. (Versmark National) — Earlier today, Versmark’s Ng Teck Sen was announced as the winner of the inaugural MOF Chess Tournament, hosted by the Principality of Mendersia in Czechia. The final round saw him face Dibistan’s Wolverhead, drawing by agreement in the first match before winning the second (1.5-0.5).

The 2026 MOF Chess Tournament was the first widespread individual chess tournament held in Anglophony in three years. Though chess events have shown up in other MOF games (e.g. the Intergames and eSports Games), the last individual event was in 2023, when Austenasia held a chess tournament in honour of Jonathan I’s 10th anniversary as emperor. The latest titled event in the general MicroWiki Sector was the round-robin 2013 MWCC; Rigas Papadopoulos of Saint Charlie won with a score of 20.5/21.

Teck Sen is currently ranked first in the revived IMCF’s database of MOF games; going into the tournament, he held an ELO of 2096 over 6 games. He also is part of a team that seeks to revive the IMCF, which announced a new edition of the MWCC early this month.

Besides Teck Sen, three other Versmarkians — Julian Szembek-Michelloti, Oliver Semple, and Moxie Flint — participated in the Chess Tournament. Of these, Szembek-Michelloti finished fourth in Group A and failed to advance, while Semple and Flint were both knocked out in the quarter-finals (against Wolverhead and Viduna Galewelage of Concordia, respectively).
