A new election is on the horizon in Versmark; The May House of Representatives elections. A record-breaking number of candidates are running, and a new system of voting has been introduced. Who are the candidates? What do they stand for? And who will win? There are, as of writing, five seats in the House of Representatives and 11 candidates.
Monarchist Council Party
The Monarchist Council Party (MCP) are running four candidates. Many members of the MCP are long-standing Versmarkians who still carry the same enthusiasm that they had when first forming the nation. Even the Sovereign is a member!
The MCP does not have a whip, but its members are focused new developments for Versmark, growth, and the Monarchy. Two Candidates who were previously Independent have now joined MCP in this election.
“The MCP’s left-wing stance sets it apart from other monarchist movements, which are often associated with conservative or reactionary values. The party believes that a monarchy can be compatible with progressive policies and that the monarch can play a role in promoting social justice and equality.”
Versmark Labour Allience
The Versmark Labour Allience, or VLA, are running three candidates. They are focused on bringing about a socialist democracy, protections and freedoms for workers, and anti-authoritarianism.
After their formation, the VLA managed to get a three-seat majority in the House of Representatives.
Compass Party
The Compass Party, formerly the Whig Party, is headed by Josh Ford, and are putting forward four candidates for election. The party was created by Joe Sane, who laid out the initial values for the party and gained a membership. After his departure from the party and the house of representatives, Josh Ford took the position of leader, and rebranded the party to what it is today.
Compass advocates for green conservatism, and spending time on the so-called “big three” of clean air, clean water, and clean land. Their party Charter calls for rapid development, and the regulation of parliament to stop the “hamper[ing of] the ability of the Representatives to effectively pass new laws.”
We the People, the custodians of this Earth, the defenders of freedom, and the advocates for self-determination, do unite under the banner of benevolent conduct, conservationism, and positive reformation. The Compass Party shall be a force for good, not just in Versmark, but in the world at large.
