Yesterday at 18:07 CEST white smoke appeared from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel, signaling to the world that a Pope had been elected. Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost selected the Papal name of Leo XIV, the first Leo since Leo the XIII’s death in 1903.
In Versmark, His Sovereign Majesty, a Catholic himself, held a livestream covering the new Pope, watching as French Cardinal Mamberti announced the Habemus Papam to the world, and minutes later as the newly elected Pope greeted the world from the loggia of St. Peter.

HSM later gave the following congratulatory notice to the public:
Pope Leo XIV Elected!
I would like to congratulate Pope Leo XIV, the first American Pope, for his election and I would like to thank the College of Cardinals for making an efficient conclave here today. A sign of unity for the Church.
As a Catholic and an American, I offer my prayers to the Holy Father, for his aid to the poor and unfortunate, the strength of the Church and a long pontificate. I offer my prayers to all of the Christians and members of the church here in our community.
The Pope is not only the leader of 1.4~ billion Catholics, but a head of state and moral leader, may Pope Leo XIV find it in himself and with the aid of the Holy Spirit to lead to the Church into an era of prosperity.
Pope Saint Peter pray for us.
Pope Saint Leo pray for us.
Habemus Papam!
HSM Wald of Versmark
