New public resources and party changes, this is a look at the month of February in Versmark.
On the 11th it was announced that the Versmark Database had been completed and was available for the public. The database includes information about government officials, parties and other general information. The database also includes an extensive record of acts presented to parliament, with active legislation and appointments. The database is available here.
Parliament activity includes the passing of the Secretary of Parliament Act on the 19th. The act passed with a 3 aye and 2 abstain in both houses of Parliament. The act was presented by MP Josh Ford, with the intentions to allow better documentation in Parliament.
Parliament also made the appointment of Quinn Tipping, a member of the House of Representatives and Versmark Labour Alliance leader, to the office of Minister of the Interior. The appointment was passed with a 3 aye and 2 abstain in both houses of Parliament, with the appointment passing on the 22nd.
Finally, some updates from Versmark’s registered political parties. The Monarchist Council Party has shortened their abbreviation from MoC-P to MCP, along with a statement reading, “A new, modern, and concise abbreviation, standing for Progress and Stability.” The MCP has likewise updated their party logo to fit recent changes.
The Versmark Labour Alliance has revealed their new party logo, a black torch with red flames. The party made the following statement along with the announcement, “We here at the Versmark Labour Alliance have made the decision to change our party logo to a torch from which the red flame originates as to shed fears that we are an extreme party. The red flame is to represent the passion behind every act of labour as well the liberty to with we promote.”
The Whig Party announced their new leadership, with HL. Josh Ford, Minister of Foreign Affairs and MP taking control of the party on the 27th. This update came with the following statement from HL. Josh Ford, “I commend the work that Hon. Joe Sane MP has done for the Whig Party, but it’s time for a new leader to take charge of the movement. The Honorable Member has stepped down as Party Leader, and I will be succeeding him.” The new party leader would go on to express his vision for change and renewed era of progress for his party and the nation as a whole.
