In December of 2024, the Minister of Justice and MP Beckenbauer left Versmark suddenly and without warning. As a result, an emergency election to fill his House of Representatives seat has been held.
Opening yesterday at 12:04 PST, the ballots were made public, closing 24 hours later. With a total of 10 votes counted, the results are in and have been confirmed.
Winning with 60% of the vote, Quinn Tipping of the Versmark Labour Alliance has won the emergency election.
This is a decisive victory for the Labour Party, with the newest political party now controlling the House of Representatives with a majority of the seats. The Whig Party has lost an opportunity to gain control of the House of Representatives, with their candidate’s loss here.
The current House of Representatives shall serve until the standard term has ended, which will be until the end of April 2025.
