In speaking to the Versmark National, Sir Josh Ford, Minister of Foreign Affairs announced the ratification of two new Treaties of Mutual Recognition, the only time two separate treaties have been signed and ratified in the same day as each other.

Empire of Karnia-Ruthenia

In a historic effort that brought together Versmark with one of micronationalism’s oldest states, Minister Ford announced the establishment of a treaty of mutual recognition (a diplomatic document that enshrines friendship and respect between nations) between the Empire of Karnia-Ruthenia and the Sovereign State of Versmark.

The Versmark National can confirm that His Excellency Esty Carpentieri, Governor of the Second Province (formerly Williamsburg), has been selected as Versmark’s first Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary to Karnia-Ruthenia. Carpentieri has been “on the bench” as Ambassador without Portfolio since October of last year.

Democratic-Republic of Boredesia

Minister Ford also announced the ratification of a treaty of mutual recognition with the small, lesser known Democratic-Republic of Boredesia.

Minister Ford tells us his rationale for the treaty, which he notes is the less flashy but much more common situation.

“They [Boredesia] applied for diplomatic relations back in 2023, but at the time didn’t meet our requirements. So when speaking to [President of Boredesia] Seamus [Stump], I took another look as things stand now and they were a perfect fit.”

The Versmark National confirms that Minister Ford tapped Consul-General for South America, Hon. Richard Mason to be Versmark’s first Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary to Boredesia.
